ScoreMe Privacy Policy

ScoreMe turns study material you import into a test, grades it, and gives you a score. This page says exactly what that requires us to hold, who else sees it, and how long we keep it.

What we collect

We do not collect your location, your contacts, your photo library, advertising identifiers, or any device fingerprint. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. There is no tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
What we do not see
Your password. Sign-in runs entirely through Apple and Google. We receive a token confirming who you are; your credentials never reach us.
Your payment details. Subscriptions are billed by Apple through the App Store. We receive only a signed receipt saying a subscription is active and when it lapses. We never see your card, your billing address, or your Apple Account balance.
Your camera roll. If you photograph notes, the image is processed on your device and only the extracted text is sent to us. The photo itself never leaves your phone.
Who else processes it
OpenAI — the text of material you import is sent to OpenAI's API to segment it, generate questions, and grade your written answers. This is the core of the product and cannot be turned off while still using it. Do not import material you are not permitted to share with a third-party processor, including material under a confidentiality obligation.
Apple — handles sign-in and all subscription billing.
Google — handles sign-in only, and only if you choose that option.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising or for their own purposes.
What other people see
Leaderboards and duels show your display name, initials, rank and score to other ScoreMe users — friends you have added, and other players in your tier. Your email address, your imported material, and the contents of your tests are never shown to anyone else.
How long we keep it
The full text of imported material is deleted from our servers seven days after import. That window exists so a test can be rebuilt or reviewed shortly after you make it. After it passes, the source text is erased and only what was derived from it survives.
What survives is the generated questions, your answers, your scores and your rank — because those are what the app is for. They are kept while your account exists.
Deleting your account
Settings → Delete account. This removes your account and the material, tests, answers and scores attached to it. It cannot be undone, and it does not cancel an active subscription — cancel that in Apple's subscription settings, since only Apple can stop the billing.
Security
All traffic between the app and our servers runs over TLS. Session tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. Our servers are hosted in the United States.
Children
ScoreMe is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can see what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — the in-app deletion above does the last of these immediately, and email gets you the rest.
If you are in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and why, to request deletion, to request a copy, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of them. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, our lawful basis is performance of our contract with you for everything needed to run the app, and your consent for anything optional. You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and you may complain to your local supervisory authority.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects what we collect or who we send it to, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
